    Monopoles Vertically Polarized

Active receiving antennas covering the frequency range up to 30 MHz / 100 MHz.

Special types up to 500 MHz are available.

Antennas are essential components in any radio communication system. If a radio link is to be both economical to set up and effective special attention should be drawed to the antenna at transmit and receiving side.

When a receiving antenna is referred to as "active" this means that there is an active amplifier stage (active section) directly connected to the base point of the antenna rod (passive section). The amplifier circuit matches the high impedance antenna rod to the low input impedance of the receiver or the receiver side coaxial cable.

Screw-on rods allow easy matching of the rod length to a wide variety of operating conditions.

  • Dipoles Horizontally Polarized   ( 4 Articles )

Horizontal dipoles have considerable advantages in RF reception compared to vertical antennas emerging from the physics of wave propagation in this frequency range.

    Active Dipoles Horizontally Polarized

Noise emerging near the antenna (e.g. man-made noise) reaches the reception position as predominant vertical polarized ground wave. Since for space wave propagation over short distances only a small frequency range can be used where atmospheric noise prevails.

Because of its vertical radiation diagram as well as the decoupling a horizontal dipole is largely insensitive to this ground wave. Assuming reception under flat angle the atmospheric noises are faded out through the slight sensitivity of horizontal dipoles at lower frequencies.

Compared to a vertical antenna only a minimum of noise is received causing an improvement of SNR for medium distances specially.
